Deacon Tom Deal was born and raised in Lake Providence, Louisiana. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He has done post graduate work in insurance, financial planning and management in addition to four years of study in preparation for the Diaconate at the direction of the University of Dallas.

Tom and his wife, Jo Ann, are long-time parishioners at Jesus the Good Shepherd. They have two children, Brad and Lauren, both graduates of Jesus Good Shepherd School and St. Frederick High School. Tom and Jo Ann also have four grandchildren.

Deacon Tom was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate on July 28^th 2014. His Parish ministries include; Men’s Bible Study group leader; member of the JGS Choir; RCIA team member; ACTS; Teams of Our Lady; and he is an enthusiastic participant and supporter of  Eucharistic Adoration.

Tom also serves as board member for Life Choices, a Christian pro-life pregnancy resource center in Monroe. He works as a financial services professional for New York Life Insurance Company in Monroe
