Often it is difficult for children to grasp the full meaning of the Liturgy of the Word when it is celebrated in an adult context. We offer a separate Liturgy of the Word for Children at the 11:00 Mass on Sundays during the school year.

After the opening prayers and before the readings begin, we dismiss our little ones to a separate worship space (Parish Hall) where they can hear the word of God. Adult leaders proclaim God’s word in language suitable to children (from the Lectionary for Masses with Children). They are the same readings the adults hear each week, only that some of the words are changed with regard to age-appropriate understandings.

We are constantly seeking adults who are interested in bringing God’s word to these young people.
