Family Promise
Family Promise is an organization of thirteen churches in Monroe and West Monroe that takes turns feeding and providing housing for temporarily homeless families.  It has proven to be a very effective and positive way for families who are down on their luck to get "back on their feet" again. Individuals who fall under the guidelines of the organization are provided shelter and food for one week intervals by the participating church for that week.  St. Paschal Catholic Church of West Monroe and Jesus the Good Shepherd have teamed up in  a manner by which St. Paschal provides the sleeping accommodations and Good Shepherd parishioners provide evening meals.  Only 15 guests are allowed to participate at one time and currently, the churches are on a 2 1/2 month rotation for providing assistance.  We ask for volunteers from our parish to provide meals by bulletin notices and word of mouth.  If you are interested in volunteering for this wonderful ministry or would like more information, please contact Randy Smith at 387-6469.
